Got the old doll a new car and ignored her old car for a few weeks and now it wont start :(

    Its a 1997 VW POLO 1.0 petrol.

Turning the key has not attempted to engage the engine. Zero happens but i do hear a kind of low level winding noise after each attempt for a second or two.
The battery is fine and i have even tried it with another battery connected in case that was creating any issue.
I cant attempt to jump the car due to the location in the garden.

Im thinking 'starter motor' and im thinking 'how do i get this thing to the garage?'

Before i hire Geoff Capes to lift the car out of the garden, is there anything i should look at which might be worth checking?

If it's the starter motor, pop the bonnet and have someone tap it (gently) with a hammer while you try turning it over. Worth a shot

Tap gently with a hammer you say huh?

Sounds like a plan. How gently is gently. Knock on the door style?

Well dont smash the sh1te out of it. A few light knocks - maybe lighter than knocking on a door. It will have a metal casing on it so dont go denting that
