VLC and Windows 7 sucks! Many known issues with Windows 7 and VLC, I am sure the VLC bods will eventually sort out the numerous (try a internet search on VLC and Win7 problems)

My laptop Pinnacle USB worked great with XP, then Vista, but when I upgraded to Windows 7..ouch!

Is any one else using a.n.other S/W decoder for DVB-t on their laptop and would like to share their configuration etc?

    Thanks from junior Bee!

    Windows 7 natively supports MPEG4 H264 !

    Just open Media Centre.

Are you talking about viewing software or solely H.264 decoding?

I got a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate at the launch last Thursday and installed it on a pretty basic AMD Athlon system (1.8GHz). Very pleased with Media Centre - using it with a Pinnacle card picked up on eBay several months ago. Media Centre setup with the card was a breeze and the H.264 decoding is fine (about 60% CPU utilisation). MHEG5 works well. Excellent integration with the media player and the library system. I've played .ts files from the Humax HD PVR and from the Mvision Combo (SD absolutely fine, HD a bit stuttery but that's to be expected).

The only issue I've noticed is that it's not picking up the EPG embedded in the DTT stream. It has a downloaded EPG which is absolutely fine and works well to set up recordings, including series link. If you don't download the EPG, it doesn't seem to pick up the transmitted version - anyone with experience of this?
