Upgrading memory/hard drive on an imac ?

Hi,

Am thinking of buying myself an imac (20"/2gb mem/320gb HDD) but was wondering if it's easy & inexpensive to upgrade the ram & hard drive on them ?

I find them very sleek & sexy machines, but come from a PC background & have no problems doing my own upgrades on them.

That link is for dismantling the old white plastic iMac. A doable but loathsome task, as I discovered recently.

The current aluminum iMacs are a lot easier to dismantle. And provided you don't break anything it won't void the warranty. You'll find a guide here:

You'll need torx screwdrivers and some suction cups.

Hard drive not as easy to replace as RAM unless you are well practiced
