What is The general consensus on these new breed of weight adjustable drivers from Taylor Made...

I'm looking to change my 9 year old King Cobra 440, but the choice is unreal.

Since my irons, rescue and 3 wood are all all made by Taylor Made I'm looking at their options first.

Do people who have these adjustable drivers find them to be an advantage or just a distraction ?

    Your thoughts please.

    Thanks in advance.

I have had 2 weight adjustable drivers. A Taylor Made R7 and the Mizuno MP600. I found that adjusting the weights to either a fade or a draw really exaggerated the shape of the shot - I would tend to snap hook when set to the draw and get severe slices when set to fade. So I ended up leaving both on neutral. The Mizuno was especially unforgiving and I was told in the pro shop that this was the trade off if you wanted the option of the draw or fade settings. But it was a fantasic club and I'm kind of sorry I got rid of it. Was thinking of going back to it again actually.

    Thanks Ronald,
I tried one out today and found the same, the adjustment was too severe.
A draw was nearly a hook!
But I'm guessing it's more to do with me than the club, in the right hands it would probably work.

I also read an web review where the guy was constantly adjusting and questioning the weights setup, in the end he decided it was just too much and went for neutral settings, which defeated the purpose really.

His conclusion was that your better off to borrow one, get the settings right then just buy a club with the appropriate charecteriatics... far cheaper in the end.
