Broken trolleys, need a replacement wheel

Is there an elephants' graveyard somewhere, where all the one-wheeled, strapless trolleys end up? Maybe someone can help me - I have a spare trolley for my eldest lad, but one of the wheels has broken. Rather than just binning it and buying a new trolley, I'd much prefer to fix it, as there must be lots of other trolleys out there about to be skipped. There is no brand name on this one, but the wheel has a small black plastic threaded nub/axle, which slots into a square black holder on the trolley leg. at the back of this is a round thumb wheel, and as you turn it, it draws the nub/axle in to tighten the wheel on to the trolley. The nub/axle is broken, and glue is not strong enough to hold it. Has anyone out there got a spare wheel before they trash their similarly broken trolley? Cheers

Try Ebay.....try a golf shop that hires out trolleys.

Stick a set of pram wheels on it........:P

Go to your nearest recycling centre. I've seen some bags, trolleys, clubs etc at my local one. There's a buckle broken on my pull trolley and been meaning to get out there because I'd expect to find something. If you have a word with one of the staff they might keep one for you if they don't have one at the moment.

Thanks Licksy, was up there at the weekend on "unrelated business" but did not see any at the time.

If you need to replace a buckle, see if you can get any old schoolbag or rucksac and cut the buckle off a strap (or the whole strap!). Depending on the fixing required, a small rivet (Lidl hand-held rivet punch costing €5 does the job) or a few stitches will fix it up! Just in case that helps!

Ok more "cheap fixes" for a buckle........

    Use a piece of shoe-lace and tie it together........use velcro..........use a cable ty-rap.

I believe this company, who are based in Crumlin, fix all types of trollies, I don't have a number to hand, but I'd be pretty sure you could 11850 them, i'd like to point out that i don't work for either above or 11850:)

i hate to be harpin on about sports direct all the time but they have pull trollies for €20.

Bro in law of mine bought one in pro shop in moate recently for €25 as well so they might not be worth the hassle repairing.

You could be right Charlie, but no harm in looking into it! It must be the green in me (not the meanness!!) that makes me want to fix and reuse rather than just scrapping it! Thanks 4 all the replies.
