Hey, about 4 months ago I bought an AGM L96 thats supposed to shoot at 300 fps ( .9 J). When I tried using the gun the range was only about 15 yards. I got in chronoed and its .8 J. I was told by someone I know that the hopup could be broken. Can anyone tell me other possible problems, solutions or places to buy a new hopup?

btw. I gave the gun a kinda careless paintjob but theres no paint on the inside

Have you tried turning the hopup off a bit? Too much hop can lower fps and range significantly....

Remove the reciver from the gun, and unscrew the barrel retaining nut, unscrew the outer barrel and hop together, Now look down the two out into natural light, can you see obstructions?

Yes? is it in the barrel or hop? Barrel: clean it lots, hop: disasemble and reassemble the hopup, and test.

if it makes no difference, its cylinder related, though it 'sounds' that if its .8j, and 15ft, like a hopup issue,

    What crono by the way?

It was chronoed in MIA so they gave it in joules not fps

I looked down the disassembled barrel and I swa that there isnt a perfect circle about where the hop up meets the barrel. It looks like it a slightly curved semi circle at the top of the barrel ie. on the far side of the hop up. I was lookin at the barrel from where the spring should be btw.

Any suggestions? thanks for the help
