Hey - I manage a rock band called OnOff.

We have just recorded a demo and these are the first mixes.

Guys - let me know your thoughts on which song to produce and properly mixed for a potential single.

    Link to songs is here

    The songs are called:

    Stars Don't Shine
    Dealer in the distance.
    Suicide

What would you release as a single.

    Let me know?

    Dicki

"Dealer in the Distance" is the best track in my opinion.

It sounds like the Artic Monkeys remixed for the soundtrack of the EA game "Burnout" (which is no bad thing). Unfortunately if it is mentioned in the same breath as the Artic Monkeys the next sentence might be about the lyrical wit of Alex Turner, and most songs will suffer by comparison.

"The Stars won't Shine" would be my next pick. It sounds like a n upbeat Stereophonics track. Both songs are too long currently to be singles, but you probably already know that.

Great musicianship by the way, and I can easily see why this band is doing well.

    Thanks for the response.

1st mix of songs - so lots of work still to be done. Am aware single need to be 3 mins in lenght.

Just difficult to get how this band sounds live onto CD.

    Dicki,

Well, I would say from what I'm listening to that this band are very good live: entertaining, tight etc., but on CD they might sound like other bands and end up blending in instead of standing out.

Dealer in the distance is very artic monkeys and reverend and the makers but mixed with a tiny bit of corona's.

Stars won't shine, sounds upbeat but the singers voice is irratating...

Suicide sounds pretty familiar.... Though I can't tell what song it reminds me of.. I hate the title.

that's my thoughts on the first listen... I agree with donkeypop, they sound much of the same then something different...
