Hey People: My daughter would like to be a radio personality when she grows up. She is now 15 and a sophmore in High school. I decided to get her an online radio show for Christmas. I have found the site Live365.com but I would also like to get her some equipment such as a mixer and microphone for a PC computer that runs on Vista. Now I read some of these threads but of course they were very technical.

Would you please in the simplelist way tell me what all I should do to help make this experiece for her positive and educational.

What equipment should I buy? Keep in mind I don't want to break the bank.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

for the very basics you'll need a connection to a shoutcast server (in your case thats live365.com), broadcasting software for your daughters PC (for mac theres nicecast, for PC theres SAM), a small minimixer and some form of audio card/firewire device to get audio into your PC. You could use your PCs sound input but thats usually not the best for quality.

I dont know how live365.com covers licences but in ireland if you want to play commercial music, you'll need aq licence from IMRO and PPI (i think). Maybe live365 will cover those fees in its fee, but i doubt it.
