Hello, Does anyone know how you would go about setting up and becoming a street trader in town, ie Licence, pitch, do you need insurance etc etc......

Any help would be much appreciated thanks.

I'm interested in learning more about this too, but particularly as it would apply to Cork. The information on the city council's website is sparse enough to say the least; they just point you to application forms for a street trading licence and don't mention anything about the licence fee, rules & regulations etc.

I was looking at this myself a few years back, from what I remember there is an awful amount of stuff that you have to do in order to get licensed etc. Would a market stall be a better option for you, ie Blackrock Market or the Blackhorse Market near the Luas, I think you can get stalls in these for around €50 for the weekend.

Just a point to bear in mind, the Blackrock market has a waiting list for the lockup stores (the 7 day trading ones). I dont know if its a week or six months but I went on the list yesterday. I think they have space on the regular stalls though.
