Suggestions for a vigorous grower

So the right side of my garden has very unsightly evergreens. Firs I think and below them is bramble. Lots of bramble. I cant get rid as its part of the hedegrow to the field next door. I have tried but it grows back over. So I thought maybe I could plant a vigorous climber that could perhaps out grow the bramble and with any luck, cover the evergreen trees. So far I have tried clematis and jasmin and even wisteria. All smothered and died even though I have been cutting the bramble back to give the creepers a chance. Any suggestions? There must be something.
