First time posting on this forum, just looking for advice. Mods please move is required.

I'm having a problem with something/someone trying to access my machine. when I traced the IP this is what came up.

    OrgName: Internet Assigned Numbers Authority
    OrgID: IANA
Address: 4676 Admiralty Way, Suite 330
    City: Marina del Rey
    StateProv: CA
    PostalCode: 90292-6695
    Country: US

    NetRange: 10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255
    CIDR: 10.0.0.0/8
    NetName: RESERVED-10
    NetHandle: NET-10-0-0-0-1
    Parent:
    NetType: IANA Special Use
    NameServer: BLACKHOLE-1.IANA.ORG
    NameServer: BLACKHOLE-2.IANA.ORG
Comment: This block is reserved for spec

I googled the info I found and it directed me to this techie forum, and I did find other web users with the same problem originating from the same source. Access attempts from this IP seem to be fairly common. I'm getting about 15-20 attempts a day, and am a little concerned. Can anyone give me any info in laymans terms, I'm not techie minded ?

    thanks.

    .

Thats a private range. Its internal to your network.
I really wouldnt worry unless you are in a web cafe or something of the like.

Generally assume that anything 10.x, 192.168.x and 172.x are internally used IP's.

Thanks for the reply jumpy. i'm just browsing from home, using wireless, there is another machine in the house, but hardly ever used. The second machine has been turned off all weekend, and I've still had about 50 alerts this weekend. I'm using zone alarm pro.
