Any Boardsies got a Focus MTB?

I know the Cayo is popular, I have one myself and I'm very happy with it. Carbon fibre frame, right mix of components, good service from Wiggle etc.

My hardtail MTB is superb, but you know when you see something new...

Prices are high for the 2010 range of focus bikes but I have to say I'm very tempted.

Thank God they are not in stock for a few weeks yet. Have to start saving:rolleyes:

That is just lovely looking! Wow, only rode their CX and Road bikes, never heard anything bad about them ever.

I was considering one of the FS XC models. The Focus First was on my list. However it's really hard to get reviews on them

I have last year's Focus Raven. Very nice light bike that far outstrips my ability. Plan on working on my MTB skills a lot more this coming winter, I would be particularly interested in giving longer distance MTB stuff a go come next summer- things like the Wicklow Way or off-road touring.

    That's a beauty Blorg :)

I've had a look on Wiggle at the current model and I think the colour scheme is a bit naff. Silly i know but I could not bring myself to buy it. Your model and the 2010 model look great.

Now that i don't have a couple of drinks in me and i look at the price again for the 2010 Raven €1,800:eek:

Do wiggle drop the prices when the models actually become available?

No, if anything they do the discounts for pre-orders and the price goes up when it actually arrives. I got the 2008 model for something like 30-40% off in the end of year sale last year- sterling was also very low at the time, was effectively half price. With the fall of sterling they adjusted the spec and prices on the bikes so I was very fortunate, my model had a full XT groupset for example. Mine is actually the Raven "Expert" so theoretically one up from the entry level Raven.

Some 2009 models are massively reduced at the moment, I would be looking there if shopping now- the 2009 Raven would be much better value.

One thing I would bear in mind is that while it may look nice when new buying a mountain bike with a white undercarriage may not be the best plan! If I had a choice of colour scheme I would certainly prefer one without the white bit.

Fortunately it's only a medium, or Blorg would buy it as a winter training mountain bike.

Blorg- Slightly leftfield I know but I just bought a Focus Raven 2007 and saw that you had the same model. I need to get a new seatpost and wondered if you would happen to know the size/diameter needed. The frame is in in spain and I'm here hense the reason for asking. Many thanks.
