my gmail contacts viewed

    Hi all,
    found this site that required for some downloads registration..so away I went and provided them (imeem.com) with my gmail account for verification. Recieved the email...clicked on the link...then they provided me with two other contacts who were members of imeem who were also listed on my gmail contacts.! How did they know that?? Have my secure gmail been compromised?

    Did you provide your password at the same time?

    Some of these sites will do and will access your contacts and invite them to join their service.

    Wally!! What a plonker! I must have :(. I can't remember the precise method I used to subscribe...but clicking on a link redirected me back to their site. I altered the password in my profile (as if that will help) for logging in to their site. Should I also change the password to my gmail account?

    I would highly recommend that you change your gmail password as soon as possible.
