How do I know if the vps hosting provider is good?

Hey guys, looking at some vps providers, and wondering if there is way that I can find out if their service is reliable not, also needs to have a good speed.. Any suggestions?

You could try forums like www.irishwebmasterforum.com and www.webhostingtalk.com. The latter one is mostly US focussed, but lots of info there.
