Been looking arond for a damaged car, to buy, to repair and then to drive. I've found this one, but I want your opinion on the extend of the damage and a rough price you think it could cost for parts etc.

NOTE: Airbags Off, Claimed no Suspension Damage.

That chassis took a fair knock...

Needs an engineers report before you buy, simple as.

Your looking at around 5k to put it right, and that's on the cheap. Airbags out makes it expensive, the dash has to come out. It's not worth fixing in my view tbh. It's worth 3k tops.

I wouldn't touch that with a barge pole. That beam at the front is critical to your survivability in an accident. It may be repairable but even repaired it would be weaker. Not an expert myself by any means but I'd steer clear.

With Avensis prices falling the way they are why bother? Looks nasty enough to be honest

How fast are they falling? Should I wait untill the new year to buy, or is better to catch garages and sellers at the end of the year to drive a good deal?

Wishing to buy an Avensis with a MAX Spend of 9k,
which is why I considered buying a damaged one.

You'll pick an 07 Avensis petrol up in January for 9k

Really? According to Carzone, AutoTrader etc, it's hard to even get an 06 at that money. Way too much overpriced, Dealers asking 14k for an 06 AVENSIS with above average mileage, dealers need to start being competitive!

Go and make an offer and see what they say. 14K for a 06 is way over the odds.

Remember, come January, all these cars will be a year older, thus bringing the price down.

What the dealers look for and what they get are two different things. Haggle is my advice. Buyers market. Looks like alot of work to right the crashed one.

Or you could bring one in from the UK like everyone else is doing. ;) Just get it checked by the AA or similar first.

You would be mad to touch this with a barge pole, from what i can gather you have no knowledge.Looking at it there over 6000 worth of parts and then about 3000-4000 labour and then 300-400 paint & sundries.

What you will need to replace will be expensive

    Bonnet
    Bonnet hinges
    Bonnet lock
    Front Panel
    RH Inner Valance
    Ft Bumper
    LH/RH Headlight
    A/c Rad
    Engine Rad
    Lower Grille
    Upper Grille
    RH/LH Wing
    RH/LH Wing Liners
    Bumper Bar
    LH/RH Bumper Slides
    Engine Fan & couling
    RH/LH Wing Mirror
    LH/RH Engine Tray

    Airbags
    Front Pass & Driver
    Knee
    Airbag controll module
    Dash panel

Ohh and an A/C regass & Tracking

Do youself a favour and buy a car from a decent well known company

    Like This One

Main dealer warranty serviced ect you should buy it for around 11200

you regularly come on here asking about this car and that car there always the cheapest.Stop thinking you will come across a massive bargin. If its a car and its cheap theres a reason for it.

    My two cents

Its really fudged n8. The hole chasis are destryed, you would need a special equipment to give it geometry back...

There alot more cars with less damage. What year is that car btw?
