solicitors letter demanding payment

If you ordered and paid for 15,000 euro worth of building material and then you keep getting letters from that supplier saying you still owe 1500 euro and you keep telling them you dont but cant provide receipts, only because you dont expect to be hassled for money 1 month down the line.
Now i have just recieved a solicitors letter telling me to make full payment to them or proceedings will start against me, i wont pay this bill again. I no it was paid because it was my mortgage loan that i paid with.
Im not the kind of person that borrows 240,000 to build my own house just to rip off a quarry for 1500 worth of blocks or stone.
Do solicitors send these letters to make you worried because come monday morning i will fire some fuks into them.
