Quark/Indesign Courses in Dublin

I'm really interested in taking a brief course (10-12 weeks, thereabouts) for either QuarkExpress or Adobe inDesign, hoping to be able to design posters/journals by the end of it.

Anyone know any courses like this in Dublin? And how much they would cost?

I know some will argue that you can't learn it all in 10 weeks but you can learn quite a bit if the initial stages are explained. From there it's just a matter of practice!

Well there are courses that cater to this, and it's just basic learning the program.

Try IACT, Big Wave Media, New Horizons.

Anyone can learn the programs, but there's more to designing posters and journals than just knowing what all the buttons are for.

You'd be better off looking into an introductory DTP course an introductory prepress course.

Well, trapping, spreading, overprinting, dot gain, spot colours, lpi/dpi/ppi/spi, halftone, pixels vs dot, bleed, flattening, live transparency, transparency issues, pdf standards, pdf settings for different printing methods (litho, flexo, digital, web press etc.), colour profiles, colour management, consistency in colour workflow, etc.

    Best of luck
