Didn't want to clog up the match thread with a brief report.

So, myself and CKWPORT (The Batman IRL) played a few short games before Corcaigh07 (Corcaigh09) showed up. Played a good few rounds (I think up to 15) before my connection cut out and I got dropped.

I have only played Horde a few times as my experience of xbox live has mostly been meeting strange or annoying people who run off like Rambo at the beginning of each round only to get chopped down or you watch them play after you get chopped down.

What a difference it was to play with a few fellow boardsies. It was more like a split screen game at times, being able to have a bit of fun with some light cooperative tactics.

Anyway, I was hoping that maybe next week we could get two more boardsies to join the "party" (ugh, I hate that term, I picture Stewie in his sailor suit), start at level 10 and see how far we get.

even though im still wrecked, im very slow going to bed.

I never played either GOW online and im not great at the game but ya, it was decent fun, nothing too sercious. Dont know if you noticed guys but i was just playing it cautious, not getting into trouble much, and helping out with shooting guys from a different distant angle. a good if subtle start for the XBL Match thread.

You were getting plenty of head shots too!

What level did you guys get up to in the end?

not sure, you left after the one where The Batman IRL was fighting on his own until getting cut down after a good effort, ya? we all left after that.

If my 360 was working, I'd have gladly joined you guys for a few rounds. Maybe when I get this repaired, or a new one?

Definitely. I don't think we will be limited to GOW2 either, hopefully more games like MW2, L4D2, etc. will keep the same weekly theme going.

I have to cut back on the drinking and nights out over the winter anyway, so you guys will have to sub in for real life socializing and "partying".

Sorry I missed the boat there lads, went out last night (if you haven't seen District 9, I highly recommend it).

@CKWPORT: I'm good for any day except wednesday and friday really. The later in the evening the better (broadband filter issues - don't ask, it's a nightmare!)

Sound, we get a game going tomorrow evening maybe?

    Good Evening.

I made purchase of Gears of War 2 a while ago and will finally have a chance to play it this weekend so I'd appreciate if I could join your in struggle. I completed the first Gears earlier this year but found multiplayer a nightmare, essentially a lottery of assholes and/ or "professionals" so it would be nice to play with regular joes.

    Cheers,

Are any of you guys still playing Horde?

I really like it but find public games are 9 times out of 10 ruined by people quitting after a round or two, or failing to work as a team in any way. I was hoping to get a few more together for a group that might play a few games now and then. BTW, I can't promise I'll stay on for two hours plus but will commit to an hour at least.

I also have the Flashback and Combustible map packs.

If you've only got a couple of hours then maybe try and find some speed-horders who try and do 1-50 in as quick a time as possible - most good teams can get most maps done in under 2 hours.

Before hackers ruined the leaderboards I used to play a fair bit, but you're looking at 5 hours for a proper run on hardcore or insane, you need a team that knows what they're doing also.

Send me a FR and let's see if you're on the same sort of times as me.

If anyone ye are playing tonight and have a spare space send me an invite as I haven't played in a while.
    All maps, GT: CORaven

Sorry - didn't see any of the above replies until today. I am often around between 7-9 during the week. I'll send out some FRs tonight.

After 5 hours my head would probably burst. I find GoW very heavy going on my eyes for some reason, much more so than other games.

"Adds the ability to join Horde sessions that are in progress. "

    This is good.

Nice that they continue to support and update a game this long after its release, if only other developers did the same

Except these were things that the fans requested from day one..

And it's a way to get people playing the game again, so they'll be excited for GoW 3 in next year.
