Anyone else read about this game; it looks like a mixture of Company of Heroes (ww2 setting, cover, ambush systems etc) & Supreme Commander (with its giant world-sized maps that you can zoom in and out of), though the resource management seems slightly different in that it's based on establishing supply routes.

Where it gets interesting and has my attention is that battles are also about fake-outs, deception & misinformation; many of the tactics & strategies seem to be about fooling the enemy to win the battle. Might be worth keeping an eye on.

If nothing else, the visuals are impressive; I like the smooth zooming from the giant map all the way into a 3rd person view of the action.

i've seen a demo on it using microsoft surface, looked amazing , hopefully it'll look and feel(minus the touch ,duh) on the playstation 3

Beta keys were handed out last week. Managed to get one myself. Installing onto steam now at the moment. Will leave feedback on it. Really looking forward to seeing what this baby can do!

Looked interesting to me when I first heard about it until I learned its coming out on the consoles. I'm not expecting it to be much good I'm afraid, or at least all that deep.

I'd be delighted to be wrong however.

Looks like its going to play something with abit of DoW 2 and World in conflict blended in... aimed at the mass of console fan boi's out there

eh just after trying it here at work. dunno whats wrong, my graphics are EXTREMELY blurry, you cant make out anything at all. Game autodetected my settings to medium.

anyone having the same issue?

Beta key is gone now! Cheerghost it did the same for me but i changed the graphics myself to the highest and works fine!

plays a bit more like a boardgame then a strategy game. Its very macro focused rather then micro or even a combination of the two.

As someone said earlier it does feel like it would be more suited on consoles.

Though some things I like.

I like the placing of buildings in it and the fact that units automatically move where you want them when you order them.

the relative ease of things is a mixed blessing on the one hand it allows for quick succession of orders over quite a diverse range on the other hand it leaves the perticulers of the fights up to chance most of the time.

its faux ww2 setting is also just plain weird.

the upgrade system is annoying though and artillary has very long range.


I'm not so sure about the Ruses myself, they just seem to be another word for general powers or doctrines.

overall its something I would probably perfer to waste an hour or two away on xbox live then on a pc cause it feels a bit more casual. On the pc there's much better games that give the same or bits of the same. This feels like the campaign side of the total war games with the battles removed and its all done in realtime.
