Anyone planning on watching it? Predictions?

Cunego again perhaps. But Philip Gilbert is on a hot streak. He won Paris - Tours last weekend. Indeed, he's won every race he's started since the worlds.

I'll also be keeping an eye on Kolobnev, Joaquin "Whack 'em" Rodriguez, Wegmann and Samuel Sanchez.

From an Irish point of view Roche, Martin and Deignan are all starting.

Will be taping it. I'm hoping teams will mark Gilbert after his recent wins and forget about Evans, but would like to see either of them win. Other than that, Sanchez seems on form, Cunego was a bit off the pace at the end of the Worlds but Lombardia might come at just the right time for him. No clue about the others.

Roche was 12th the other day but I think top 10 is the best he could get at the moment.
Evans for me, The course suits him and he has a reasonable kick.
Cunego maybe but he seemed a bit cooked at the worlds.
As long as it's not Vino I'll be happy enough

Lotto are pretty stacked for this race alright with Gilbert and Evans both on form. Was just thinking about the team last night. They're winning all round them at the moment, but it doesn't matter as much as it should because the races that really matter to a Belgian team are at the other end of the year.

These are hard to predict but my money is on Sanchez - he better cop himself on now a bit and pull the trigger. GP de Llodio aside.
I would love to see the Irish boys do well of course - C'mon DAN !

Since there is so many going for it this year it should be pretty good, rather than just Cunego VS himself. I'd like to see Roche give it a go.Gesink,Vino,Fuglsang and Lovkvist also favourites.

Evans will be taking it handy IMO..Gilbert to win it.

@ Tonto listing off WC top 10 ;)

Nooooooooo. I am in Italy right now, flying out tomorrow, could have easily taken a short train ride up there and stayed an extra night. Excuse me whilst I go outside this hotel lobby and scream.

    Cunego for me.

Thanks Cyclopath, looks like I will get a bit of it before I leave for the airport. I was just pottering around the Tour of Lombardy course on the TacX Imagic before I came out here to make sure it was working before winter. You'd think that might have jogged my memory that the race was coming up wouldn't you ? Rookie mistake.

    4.30 pm

Should be a great race. Cunego has 3 victories and he always excels in this race. Seems to have peaked in the Vuelta but still have sneakin suspicion he'll be there at the end. Other bet is Sammy Sanchez.

Great to see Gilbert really get his act together. After a very disappointing Spring, looks like he might be about to fulfill his true potential. Has he signed up with Lotto (know they have changed name) for next year? No great love affair between himself and Evans, especially last April, so not sure if they will help each other out tomorrow.

Roche away with three others. They have 7 minutes lead but a long way to go.

Great race. Glad to see this great classic is getting the coverage it deserves. Seemed to have lost a little of its prestige over the past 10/15 years or more as lot of riders were tired at the end of a long season so hung up their bikes after the Worlds. In the past this was one of the races to win (look at all the greats who have it on their palmares) hence its inclusion as one of the 5 Monuments. However it seemed to fall to the bottom of the list as the Spring classics pulled all the TV coverage. Great to see Eurosport covering the last 40km. Loved every minute of it and what a final 20km.
