Transfer of owenership question/advice

    Hi guys,

    not sure if this is the right forum sorry. Recently (ish) bought a used car from a dealer at the end of august. Long story short after waiting a month I contacted the motortax people and they had no record of any documentation being sent.

    Got in touch with the dealer, and they had forgotten, so have sent the required details off (I think) in mid-late September.

    Have looked on the motortax.ie vehicle enquiry page (https://www.motortax.ie/PSE/start.do?page=welcome) - and there seems to be some new detail, with the sections 'Purchased by a dealer' and 'Notified on' now updated to more recent dates (end of Sept).

    I'm guessing that means that the guys down in Shannon have the docs and its just being processed?

    New to this stuff so apologies for dumb questions. The other option given to me at the time of the first enquiry by the motortax people was to go to a garage and solicitor to get forms filled out which would state I was the owner. But would rather not do that if the original forms are currently being processed.

    Anyways, apologies again if wrong forum, thanks for any advice!

    More than likely just being processed. One thing Shannon tends to be is incredibly slow;)

    I was waiting almost 3 months last time and the dealer had sent it by registered post. Even showed me the receipt!

    yeah that is awesome... so guessing may have to schedule the NCT i've booked! :/ - hate to see what the wait is like when there's actually a lot of cars being sold!
