    Hi,

Was anyone listening to Donn McClean on Newstalk's Off The Ball last night? I caught the repeat this morning. Apart from his usual "Big Tip" and "Outside Bet" he mentioned a 100/1 that may be worth a punt, running in Newmarket. Any catch the name of it?

    Hi there,

The horse he mentioned at the end was Barshiba in the 3.00 Newmarket. (Currently 66/1 on Paddy's).

Main tips were Mawatheeq 3.00 Newmarket & Bahrain Storm 3.40 Newmarket.

Hope this helps & good luck,

At 66/1 its worth a euro e/w. Doubt it'll win though Group 2 and Listed are its best winning levels so far. About 20 lbs down on the favourite

I forgot to say, Newstalk have changed their website recently. You can now listen to an entire show again the next day. So if you go to http://www.newstalk.ie/
Then go down to the bottom of the page & click on the "Listen Back" block, a window will open. From here you click on the face of the Off the Ball presenter, then click on Part 2, about 55 mins into it (use the bottom scroller thingy to speed through it) is where you will hear Donn talk about Barshiba.

I've only stumbled on this recently on the site & the "Listen Back" feature is really helpful for exactly this sort of situation.

    Hope this helps,

Maybe he should be renaming his tips to lays, you'd make a fortune :D

He couldn't tip a winner to save his life, hopeless record. Every time he's on Of the Ball he spends it analying why his selection ran well even though it finished 9th and why the winner was the horse to back on all known form. Pityful.
