I'm interested in opinions of the course from grads, students of the degree and masters programs.

Just brief opinions. I'm particularly interested in job prospects and if any of you joined the Gardai subsequently and anybody who did the course as a mature student.

It's an attractive proposition being a 3 year honours degree program with a 4th year for a Masters.

Actually the Masters course was available last year and before possibly. Also opinions and times change and budgets also change. So it's worth asking again.

Its only been a few months since the question was asked - things are pretty much the same. I am not familiar with the masters course though. :)

Im in the final year of computer forensics, be the first year graduating. Garda usually train thier own computer forensics people i think. Check out this site http://www.forensicfocus.com/computer-forensics-forums
and http://www.forensicfocus.com/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=8 which has a list of jobs currently available in computer forensics. Other jobs ya can get from the course are programming, working with biometrics, IT Security, analysing computers for evidence, mobile phones for evidence, Web browser forensics, finding files on a hard drive and many more. The above websites should give you an insight anyway. And also jobs are on the up in this field with security and forensics needed in every buisness
