Crack in gable: subsidence?

sorry for the length of this post, but i think we have a subsidence problem and would be grateful for any notes people might have.

we live in an odd little house - bungalow, 2 rooms wide, and 2 rooms deep, with a 1 room extension that is independent of the house. it is terraced in a row of 4, but the terrace is staggered - each house is 1 room in front of the last. the left of the house is flatroofed and the right is mono or half-apex slopping down to the flat-roof.

We have noticed a crack in the gable of the house, on the mono roof side in the attic. it can't be seen from the outside as it is clad in tiles, but it is a cm or more wide on the inside. it mostly travels up the mortor between the blocks, but 2 blocks are also cracked.

Could this be subsidence? if so could it be caused by all of our neighbors in the row building extensions in the past 2 years?

does anyone know the best way to proceed?

Get a structural engineer to have a look at it for you.

You will need to get a structural engineer to carry out an assessment on site. Not much we can really tell you here.
