fair play, new hospital was needed

BUT why cant they use that money to open up wards that were closed ?

open up wards that are needed in other area's in the country rather than just focusing on dublin ?

It blatantly represents how the Irish people get stung on a daily basis by the government. This is a monument to their success in doing so...

    beehive???
if this ever gets done on time or on budget.:eek: Its badly needed but why not properly fund the Crumlins Childrens Hospital and the like! This country gets more like Fr. Ted by the day i swear

    About time they did this.

Who wants to start a book on that it will be completed in 2015/16 and 400 Million over budget?

Glad its happening but can we trust these people to move forward with this project in the correct manner let alone manage it properly?

    Ah the Health Departments Transport 21. We'll build it next year they said in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009

A shiney plastic model costs little. I don't see any contracts out to tender yet.

Situation A: 5 hospitals. 5 x-ray machines. 5 under-busy radiographers who aren't getting enough experience to be expert at what they are doing.

Situation B: One hospital. One super-duper x-ray machines. Two radiographers and one cosultant.

    Which situation do you want?

That's to make it more costly to build than necessary.:(

This hospital will be located in Berties constituency

terrible whiff of corruption off that decision

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,258 ✭✭✭swingking

worst location for a children's hospital ever. Town!! Town FFS!! Think of how bad the traffic in the area is gonna be.

Not located near the M50 or any main road with quick and easy access out of the city.

And as so righly was pointed out; it's in Bertie's constituency. Such a corrupt

Bertie and the rest of the cabal will have blood on their corrupt hands when dying and sick children cannot reach that hospital in time because of its plainly stupid location

I heard again today that the HSE may save an estimated €25 million by opening this hospital. Can no-one do maths in the HSE?

The annual budget is €19.5 billion for health in the country. The HSE plan to close three hospitals and can only save less than 1%. How is this even possible?

How about going to work tomorrow and telling your boss that he could save as much as 0.78% by shutting down three large factories out of the fifty-one factories he owns.

He'd likely fire you for being a twat.

Which ignore the fact we need a new Childrens hospital and new facilities.

I don't care what it saves if it gives a decent and safe facility for children, unlike Crumlin.
