Terrified of change

The guy I was going out with died slightly suddenly (he was sick but everyone thought he was getting better). At the time I was going through some other changes, jobs, moving. I have just realised that I'm scared of any sort of changes, I really struggle with any. I've been in the same situation for the past few years, no job, no money and few friends. I have made some small changes, most I was forced to do others i did on 'good' days. Today I started making big changes and when I got home I was in tears and that's when I realised how scared I was. I don't want to be terrified of doing something with my life but I don't know how I can change how I feel.

    Hi,

I suppose that this could be viewed as a transition period for you, and it's perfectly understandable to fear change during this time. Changes bring with them a certain level of uncertainty and that can be very scary. Look, make sure that you get some short-term plans going in order to keep you on your toes. These don't have to involve too much change though. Such a plan could include ensuring that you go for a short walk each day (or that you at least get out of the house for 30 minutes). Id also recommend going to your GP to talk about things too, if you can. Can you afford it?

    Kevin
