Hi, recentlly passed my test and just wondering if I'm better off posting or going to the motor tax office directly myself when applying. If i went to the motor tax office, do i get the license there and then and does it matter which motor tax office you go to? I'm based in Dublin and nutgrove would be the handiest for me

    Cheers

Most MTOs do not issue licences instantly - but you generally get them much faster if you apply in person. Days (usually 2) vs. weeks for post in Naas MTO for instance.

I sent my application of in the post last tuesday to wicklow and got it in the post today. Not much difference when applying in person to be honest. Just photocopy your certificate of competency and carry id and you should be grand. think you have to apply to your local tax office.

Congrats on passing your test by the way. It's great to have it out of the way :)
