RTE NL control what is broadcast and not broadcast.

    Engineering Tests you see.

Correct . Word from RTLNL nearly two weeks ago was that an encoder needed replacing due to lip sync issues.

    It will be back.

Remember these are just engineering tests and should NOT be regarded as a service.

thanks for the additional detail, i'm not regarding it as a service(fully aware its a test/trial, just trying to figure out if I've done something wrong or not :) )

i didnt get the word from RTENL and couldnt find it on here :(
just a thread about lip sync followed by "alls well" type message

Jaysus, it's tiring to see the "This is an engineering test" in response to every single DTT question. Is there harm in wondering about coverage/service issues with the test service anyway? I think the message is only important where people may make decisions involving money or important occasions based on DTT availability.

And to be fair, TV3 was pretty much unwatchable with the lip sync issue so putting up the testcard didn't change much for me.

For the many people living in non multichannel land, and don't want MMDS, the Irish digital channels as compared to the analogue counterparts are a good option, and people are starting to depend on them. My parents in Limerick use them on their new Philips LCD. Its a pity they have to go back to analogue for TV3. Well quite honestly its a bleedin joke.

First TV3 broadcasts from Three Rock Mountain were subject to RTE NL Test Message Mondays to Fridays before coming back at weekends.

For almost a month now TV3 has not been available on DTT from Three Rock Mountain.

Currently an EPG is broadcasting but no video/no audio & no RTE NL test message.

Has anyone any update on when this problem will be resolved ?

Has anyone an official launch date for the DTT service in the Republic ?

    Regards _ FZ

Why is RTE not publishing details online about what is going on?
I know its officially a test but the fact is that thousands are probably now using the DTT transmissions can't they cut through the red tape and just update their website with their plans and availability of channels as best they know?
It's like they're in denial, remind me who mostly pays for this service?

Is it "the" cable company wanting to delay the publicity due to the inevitable impact on their business?

TV is Pioneer KRP-500a picks up the channels fine.

I've seen that issue raised over at AVforums. Seems to a common problem on the that model group with slow to none EPG data being downloaded. Apparently a firmware upfgrade can fix it. Have a look in the owners thread.

Yes, TV3 now back on DTT from Spur Hill on Ch 45. DTT channels will always be the same from all DTT transmitters as they all have the same headend, so if TV3 is back on Three Rock, it is back everywhere.

In Meath, TV3's reception is just atrocious and doesn't look crystal clear at all like the others channels, and this is on Chorus as well.

Have you contact TV3 about this? or Chorus?

Nope, just accepted it as fuzzy. All other stations crystal clear. How could one station be just bad.

Well if you are pay a subscription then you shouldn't just except it, you will need to talk to UPC, and TV3 should be informed and should reply to your issues (unlikely that they will since they are "free")
