Just booked my first lesson there, got my test at the end of month. I was talkin to your man and he said before the test you have to answer 20 questions and then questions about under the hood of the car. I didnt know this. I thought the only theory was done in the thoery test. Does this mean I have to be prepared for 20 random questions from all of the material or is it just more common sence questions. Like do I need to know the numbers of breaking distance, tire pressure etc.

You should be able to point out various components of the engine, usually things like where fluids goes in - oil cap, washer fluid, etc.
A common one is how do you make sure the bulbs are working when you're alone in the car? (You drive up to a window to check, then reverse up to it to check rear bulbs).
Also thread depth, how long distance you should keep to car in front during dry and wet weather.
    More to come I'm sure.

Some questions in UK, should be similar:

Check indicators: Put on hazard lights, walk around and check.
Check head/tail lights: Turn on, walk around and check.
Check brake lights: Apply brake, get someone else to check or use reflection.
Procedure for checking tyre pressure: Find correct pressure in manual, measure on cold tyres, don't forget spare, use reliable gauge, replace valve caps.
Check oil: Point to dipstick, explain that you'd take it out, wipe it, replace and remove again and make sure oil is between min and max.
Fog lights: How to turn them on, when would you use them?

And my personal favourite, asked on my test: "Show me how you'd use the horn." Beeeep.

Know your road signs and hand signals.

    Good luck!

Easily learnt stuff. Read the rules of road over next month. MY instructor gave me a list of frequently asked questions and the answers to them. Learn your hand signals too.
