I'm thinking about running/starting up a night in the Dome, playing techno and electro....

Is it actually busy in the dome, would a crowd go in there?

As techno/elecrto is a specific style and taste it won't appeal to a wide audience. You might have better luck in Electric Avenue.

Trying to get a night in EA is a bit hard, as it's a bit of a monopoly in town!

I thought the dome would be suitable as it'd be a way of getting some of the students who are also Dj's a gig or two...?

Believe me, I've tried and failed. As far as I'm aware there is a contract with a DJ there each year.

    In the dome?

As far as i'm aware there is only "cheese" Dj's that play in there, and it's not even that regular?
