Has it? I got into my county final for a tenner last Sunday, thought it was fairly reasonable.

Wicklow County Final was €15 a head with €5 for Students and OAP's, thats pretty steep in my view. When you add in the "Souvenir 125year program" your up to 18quid, not exactly cheep! At least it was a good match :D

Twas €15 to get in the Waterford Senior Hurling county final last sunday, and has been cut to €10 for tomorrow's replay. I dont think that many people complain if they get a good match. I know in Waterford i heard alot of people give out that they have to pay €15 to go into the RSC to see Waterford UTD play, but most dont mind paying the same price into a G.A.A. game. I guess they know they will get value for money.

"Technically" you get better value at a football match as its 90min vs 60min. But we all know you'd rather watch a 15min interesting match than a 4 hr boring one for the same price.

The problem is with such limited coverage of club football/hurling that its either pay it or tough luck.

    Regards
    Ian

In fairness, you more often than not get 2 games for the entry price in GAA Championships tho. Anyone got an idea of what the entry will be for the Dublin County Final? The Semis were €15 at the start and then €10 for the replays as there was only 1 game. Hope its not more than €15 for the final but have a feeling it could be.

I dont know about the "Technically". I know i would rather sit and watch a six minute game where you are assured of lots of scores, and lots of scoring chances, than to pay the same amount to see a game where you might not see a decent shot on goal in the whole game.

The G.A.A. all year seems to have a policy about taking some of the cost off for a replay, which is something they have to be complemented upon.

Ya, i forgot to say that thing as well about the two games. Last week down here we had a Junior Attached (second string) Hurling County Final before the senior game and this week we have a divisional under 21 final.

Ah yea. Thing is tho that the first Semis (both on same day) were €15 in so id imagine it will be €20 for the final. Not sure if there is another game before it but dont think there is so maybe they might stick at €15. Either way, County Final for €20 or a soccer game like Ireland v Cyprus for about double it, cant really argue too much (altho would love to get to Croker for a soccer game. Interested to see how different the place looks/feels)

I'd say the place would be dead.

In Wexford, it's been €15 for county semi-finals and finals for the last couple years with €5 for OAPs and students. Not sure what it was this year though.

It was 20 euros for the premier intermediate and senior hurling finals in Cork last Sunday,i thought it was too expensive,15 euros would have been enough.

Cavan County Final: €18 for covered stand, €15 for standing and uncovered areas, plus €5 for an 180 page '125 of the GAA Book'. OAP €8.

I know its not a big deal but anyone else think its a bit of a farce that the county final entry is different for each county? You would think it would make sense to have a set price around the country. As i said, cant complain at 20 bills as you get your moneys worth but should be a set amount over all.

Dont know would it work. Say people think its good value to pay €15 or €20 to go into the senior football final in Kerry or the senior hurling final in Kilkenny, would people pay the same amount to go to the Kerry Senior Hurling or Kilkenny Senior Football county finals.

Eh have you been to a soccer match in croker?? The atmosphere is more lively at these games compared to many championship games I have been too.

I have a parnel park season ticket great value at €130. I get free admission to all dublin hurling/football club games and inter county league games in Parnell Park. You are also gauranteed tickets for all ticket inter county games in the championship but you pay for these.

Apologies for going off topic at the start.

€12 euro in today for one game, AIB Ulster Preliminary Round. Talk about a rip-off by the Ulster GAA
