Broken tooth

I'm absolutely furious right now, after recovering from dry socket, I am after breaking a bit of my second molar while eating a bit of fish in breadcrumbs that was a bit overcooked. I probably shouldn't have eaten it, but I've eaten far crunchier things and been fine. I felt a massive snap at the back of my mouth and I'm fairly sure a piece broke off the second molar, as it is now sharp at the back. I must have swallowed the piece. Is this something that needs urgent attention? I have an appt on Monday afternoon to check how the wisdom tooth removal went. I'm quite worried, as what I ate shouldn't have been enough to break a healthy tooth. For God's sake!!! Is it possible I mistook it for something else? I have a bit of pain now in the socket I got my wisdom tooth out from but surely there's nothing left there to crack?

EDIT It's definitely broken, i can see it in the mirror.
