I see alot of threads here about people being ripped off at garages, and about crappy service they have recieved.

    So.....
Anyone got any stories of good dealings with garages?

    My 3 best would be.

    1) freddy vaugh in ferbane co offaly (was a citroen dealer now independent citroen specialist) head mechanic really knows his citroens, reasonable labour no frills good service. This would be my garage of choice for anything I cant do myself.

    2) lewis opel in portlaoise. Excellent warranty service, no quibbles about anything they just fixed it. (it was a vectra so there was alot of fixing:) going on) always washed my car before returning it and would provide courtesy car if required even for servicing. Most of all if there was something wrong they kept it till it was fixed!

    3) The crossings Peugeot Naas. Burst a power steering pipe going through sallins. got it to naas (ripped off by tow truck 175 euro for 350mtrs I didnt realise it was so close, but thats another story) They had no available appointment for 10 days and no part (power steering cooler) when I explained how far from home I was (90 miles) they had it done the next morning as soon as the part arrived. They also charged me less than the quoted price as "it came out so handy" .5hrs labour instead of 1 hour. I know it was only a few quid but thats never happened to me anywhere else. They still send me spammy letters asking if I need a service, slightly annoying but hey nobody else has ever done it.

    anybody else??

Sound man, does great no-frills work at very reasonable prices. I'd recommend him to anyone.
