    Hi all,

Ye are normally great for this sort of thing. I am looking to get a dress similar to this. I always loved this style and I have a wedding new years eve I want to wear it to.

Being honest I would love something like this but knee lenght. Any suggestions would be great.

    Thanks

    Hi all,

My sister who is going to the wedding says that dress is OTT - even though I love it :-(

So what do you think of this dress, and what colour shoes would I wear with it. I don't want to wear black shoes, but am open after that.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi Carolinei, I'm glad your sister said as much cause I was just about to post that some people consider it rude to wear bright red to a wedding (too eye catching)! Better safe than sorry in that regard.

The new one you've posted is lovely although you could still try for something a bit more unusual without being over the top.

Here's one similar to it but with a softer cut http://www.lkbennett.com/products/aw09styles/aw09clothing/sadie/pid-30368purple The colour is also slightly more unusual shade

    These are pretty too:

I say féck the old-fashioned wedding etiquette, it's perfectly acceptable nowadays to wear red to a wedding. It's a stunning dress and would be ideal to wear again to a wintertime ball and red is nice and easy to match accessories with. I'd go with red, be daring! Also, I think the other dress is very generic demure wedding guest kind of number.

EDIT: Just saw that the wedding is NYE. That's all about glitz and glam. Get and buy that red one!

That red dress is stunning - I thought that only white and off white was off for weddings - get it! I want it myself, it is stunning.

I agree, the red dress is beautiful, it is not OTT especially for new years and I have never heard of the 'don't wear red' rule and I have been to a hell of a lot of weddings!

I know, this is what I was thinking. People always get glammed up for New Years Eve anyway - and the fact I am going to a wedding you always get glammed up for too, so to me it was a chance to REALLY get glammed up.

I think I will try bought of them on and whichever is more flattering I will wear.

    Thanks all.
