O.K., I recently got some Game Cube games to play on my Wii only to discover the classic controller does'nt work. Crap,I thought. So I got one of those third party Game Cube controllers. I was about to play Zelda-Wind Waker when I got a message as I started the game "cannot save game".................................. Apparently I need a game cube memory card also.(Seriously, you think Nintendo would have sorted all this out with an update:rolleyes:)

Anyway what I want to know is where can I get a Game Cube memory card from and how am I supposed to insert it into the Wii to begin with?

    Thanks.

You'd probably have to get one second hand. The card goes in the slots near where the controllers go in.

Can you recommend a place where I won't be fleeced and won't take an eternity to deliver? Anywhere in Dublin city centre that might have them?

I'd say eBay is your best bet

and there are two sizes, can’t remember exactly,
think its something like 52kb and a 250 kb,(it’s been years since I used one) make sure you get the higher capacity one because some games take up more than the smaller card can hold.

the sims is one game that springs to mind that needed the higher capacity.

I got one handy enough off Deal Extreme a few months back for very little. It fits in the slots on the top of the wii at the back.

It would have been a lot easier if Nintendo had allowed the saves to be stored on the Wii's internal memory. Although maybe there's some technical reason why they couldn't do that?

Think the Dawson Street one has some.

ebay has 15 pages of gamecube memory cards, loads under a tenner including delivery.
Hardly think Nintendo could be slagged for needing a memory card for an old system.

While the leap from 'Cube to Wii is not massive, they have allowed users of their previous system (who in theory would have a memory card) 100% compatibility. Sony failed miserably with their attempts allowing PS2 users to use their new machine (which admittedly was a much bigger leap!!!!)
