    hi
    i have a transit 2001 125 t350
    turns over about 20 times before it starts, wont start atall when its frosty, i also need a trustworthy mechanic, if anybody can help please

    Timing chain tensioner is knackered. Engine apart job Im afarid. Known problem with the Transit. It'll start first time all day long but wont start first thing in the morning.

    Sounds like it all right.

    I think there was a recall on those tensioners if im not mistaken might be worth checking with a dealer and see what they say could be to late though.

    a few people told me it might be the injectors after 150,000 mls,

    im in newbridge area.

    Doubt it but it's what a lot of people go for first. 800 quid ish at a main dealer. Try Tony Cully In Sallins 045866665

    i rang tony about an hour ago, very nice man i'll give him a try, i'v had some stinkers over the years this man tony sounds fair, i'll give him a try.

    only transits 05 on were effected by the timing tensioner problems, your sounds more like an air leak problem the 125 has an electric fuel primer on the filter which can give alittle grief ,could also just be glow plugs, specially with the cold lately,

    if i had have guessed i probably would have said plugs or injectors,
    the man i spoke to today said injectors... maby, i think it might need both,
    hopefully just the cheapest part :rolleyes:, might go for a vw next time.
