Anybody remember a short lived scary/thriller series on ITV in the mid to late 80’s, not Armchair Thriller, not Tales of the Unexpected and not Chiller (from the 90’s) but similar. All I remember is the opening credits, which had a animation of a house / window sill with a flower pot sitting on it, and someone whistling, then creepy music sets in and the flower wilts…I also remember one episode that was set in a old English public school and involved a pupil or maybe even a teacher getting tied up by bullies in a changing room and then an anonymous killer coming in and killing them while they were defenceless. Ring a bell (no pun intended) with anyone?

Tales from the Darkside? Their intro used a house with creepy music.

Nah that was American wasn’t it? This one was definitely English made , and almost positive it was on ITV...

I think hammer had a series but I think that was more late 70's, there was a series on BBC called supernatural which was short stories in a tales of the unexpected vein.

I remember that, it was donkeys' years ago. Only one I can remember was about a werewolf. Anyone remember 'Beasts'? It was a series of scary dramas. One was about an old couple trapped in a house with rats scratching under the floorboards...one about a poltergeist in a supermarket and another one about a ghost dolphin called 'Buddy Boy'. I bought the series on dvd lately in Dublin... I was surprised at how dated and low budget it looked however I remember being petrified at the time:eek:.
Sorry op I can't think of what you're talking about, I'll continue to rack my brains.:)
Just a thought, It wasn't 'Dramarama-Spooky' by any chance?I can't find the intro on Youtube.

It sounds like 'Worlds Beyond', a thriller type series on ITV for a couple of seasons, I can't remember the intro though.

I enjoyed the Beasts DVD. Barely remember it at the time. Pauline Quirke is good in the supermarket one. Favourite of the six is During Barty's Party. Rats!

Thriller is the best anthology series of them all. Do you remember it Ann?

DVD box definitely worth a purchase.

I don't remember it, I looked it up just there. Sounds like something I would've enjoyed. I was only born in '69 and the first episode was broadcast in '73 so I doubt I would've been up late enough to watch:). Have to watch the supermarket episode yet of Beasts. It's very vague in my memory, my sister remembers it well tho'. The 'Hammer House Of Horror' is being repeated on Sky now and again. I remember that quite well.

Hammer House of Horror is excellent. DVD set also worth checking out. Better than Hammer House Of Mystery And Suspense which came later - Friday nights on RTE 1, September - November 1984.

I have written reviews for all Thriller episodes if you want to have a look. Series 1 Series 2 Series 3 Series 4 Series 5 Series 6
