    Is there anyway I can get a word document back when I've closed it without saving :o( A whole essay gonzo... please help!

    Probably not.
    Is there a ~TMP file in the same directory as the document? You can try to open that in notepad.

    Did you use Word for it?
    If so, if autosave is enabled you will be able to get it back...
    If not...well..get typing :D

    if it's not there you could also try a data recovery program (like recuva) to see if it can pick it up

    When you close Word, autosave (if you have it enabled) will delete any autosaved versions.
