pop email

    Can I set up a pop email account on an iphone?
    I have tried setting it up with our regular incoming mail server and smtp.o2.ie as the outgoing but nothing is happening! Perhaps I am missing something important?

    This is taken from the sticky in this forum, at the top...

    E-mail client Settings:
    Start => Messaging => Setup E-mail
    E-mail address: e.g. john.smith@mymeteor.ie
    Password: (user defined)
    Save password: ticked
    Press Next
    Tick "try to get e-mail settings automatically from the internet"
    Press Next
    Your e-mail provider: e.g. Internet email
    Press Next
    Your name: e.g. John Smith
    Account display name: e.g. MyMeteor
    Press Next
    Incoming mail server: e.g. mail.mymeteor.ie
    Account type: e.g. POP3
    Press Next
    User name: e.g. john.smith/john.smith@mymeteor.ie
    Password: (user defined)
    Save password: ticked
    Outgoing (SMTP) mail server: e.g. mail.mymeteor.ie
    Outgoing server requires authentication: "ticked" or "unticked" if required
    Use the same user name and password for sending e-mail: "ticked" or "unticked" if required
    Advanced Server Settings
    Require SSL for Incoming mail: "ticked" or "unticked" if required
    Require SSL for Outgoing mail: "ticked" or "unticked" if required
    Network connection: The Internet
    Press Done
    Press Next
    Automatic send/receive: e.g. Every 15 minutes
    Press Finish
