Macbook - improper shutdown while in sleep

I put my Macbook Pro to sleep last night as I usually do. Battery was about 60 percent and it wasn't plugged into the mains. But when I opened the lid this morning it didn't wake up. No light, nothing. It seems it had switched off by itself during the night.

I powered it back up and everything seemed fine. Battery still showed 60 percent. I can't find anything in the log except the detection of an improper shutdown at startup.

It might just be a once-off, but any ideas what happened here?

What model is it? What version of OS X? There was an issue with the MBP in the early releases of 10.5 where the screen wasn't waking after sleep.

It's the latest unibody 13 MBP, running 10.6. It wasn't just the screen. It was completely shutdown.
