***Please forward to any baseball fans you know***

Baseball World Series Game 1 at the Greystones Theatre

Come watch the first game of the 2009 World Series on the big screen at north Wicklow's newest venue. This social event and fundraiser for the Greystones Mariners Baseball Club is open to the public -- all are welcome!

When: Thursday, 29 October, 7pm (doors open 6.30 pm)
Where: Greystones Theatre, Meridian Centre, off the Main Street, Greystones
How much: 10 euro per person (5 euro for theatre members) or 25 euro per family

Over 18s who wish to BYOB must apply for Theatre membership -- see http://www.greystonestheatre.com/ for details.

NOTE: this is a delayed showing of a game played late the night before

DO get a good night's sleep instead of watching the game at 1am
DO come on down and enjoy some baseball in Greystones' newest entertainment space -- the theatre is an informal, club-like space with casual seating areas
DO bring any baseball fans you know of all ages - families welcome
DON'T check the score, or any of your favourite baseball websites on the day!!

    For details, see

Greystones Mariners Baseball Club is a community-based baseball programme serving youth aged 5 to 17 as well as amateur adult players. At the end of 2008 we had about 100 members. GMBC is a voluntary organisation and a recognised tax-exempt sports club in the Republic of Ireland. Thanks to ESPN America, MLB and the Greystones Theatre for their support of this event.

Folks, we hope to have pizza slices available on the night to go along with your (BYO) beer (over 18s) and soft drinks should be available as well for the under 18s and anyone else.

Any questions on how to get there, PM me, but it's just a one-minute walk from Greystones DART station or the bus stop (Dublin bus routes 84 and 184).

How did the screening go? I was hoping to make it but couldn't.

Well, we had a pretty good turnout from our club, but despite promoting it far and wide, we didn't really get many down from Dublin. It's a shame, because it was great watching the game on the big screen like that.
