Why do you hate superquinn so much?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 838 ✭✭✭Gregsor

I still don`t think these are great offers:(.
Buying in bulk should save you more,on the cans even more so.
And that Long Row wine it`s being doing the rounds in other places for a long time and it`s about alright.
Is that really a good saving on the Southern Comfort?

They can't - if you let those beers get warm they're not drinkable ;)

Superquinn's offer sounds good till a quick intenet search reveals Southern Comfort 70cl @ £15 in Sainsburys and that Arniston Bay Red 3 for £10 in Asda.

Well id reccommend going to sainsburys if you live next door to it, im afraid 100% of the people living in Ireland do not live next door to it so were stuck with the superquinn offer

However a lot of people do regularly shop up North especially in the run up to Christmas and even more especially for alcohol . Just pointing out that Special Offers down here arent always as special as they may appear at first glance

Is this a scam. Northside still have no guinness in stock

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,772 ✭✭✭bazwaldo

That saves me a trip this morning. Superquinn Northside is always crap for offer stock. Its such a dump. Pavilions usually has loads but haven't been since this beer offer.

Well rather lousy actually. In da North in Tesco you can have 24 x 440ml cans of Carlsberg for £10 less than 42p per can so you can have 3 cans for the price of your one of f"good value...." . The only way we will lower prices here is if we shop wise and force them to value our custom......;)

Yeah - and in France you can buy bottles of wine for €2 so nobody should put up any bargain alerts for any wine over that price either ....

Not everybody can go to da North for their drink.

I certainly was not saying don’t post any bargain info but it depends on the definition of bargain. I appreciate not all can get to the North but it is easier than France. Since much of the Thread is relating to Super Quinn if you have one of those near by then you do not live in the deep South like I do. So it is not beyond imagination that many people would like to travel up to get some beer and other things. If it is a third of the price you will not need to get that much to make the trip pay. Also with Christmas coming we all tend to need more beer at that time…..:P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,772 ✭✭✭bazwaldo

Is the Carlsberg the same (same alcohol and taste) as the Superquinn one? I know the size is different. If it is, then that is cheap.

The point of the alert though was that its cheaper in SQ than anywhere else in the republic. We all know everything is cheaper across the border. Theres another forum for NI bargains.

What is the deep south? Does Waterford count? It is on the south coast afterall. That has a Superquinn. Clonmel has one also.

You still have to get to the north, Buy the beer and get back again so you have to factor in fuel & the time for the return trip. I agree with you though We should all shop wise - Lidl, the recession and to a lesser extent Aldi are the only reasons we are now getting any value from the shops in this country.

I agree they are in the South. But they are still a long way North of me I'm near Bantry so I hope that is considered deep South..... (None in Cork county as far as I am aware)

I know it is costly to get up there but if you can consider it a mini break you should break even (assuming you have a big enough car) LOL :P

Since our government does not realise that there is anywhere outside Dublin (if you look at the state of all our roads down in Cork) all those in Dublin should have no trouble getting up and down in a day.
