    Hi,
I want to install an AUX jack in my 08 Legacy to play MP3s. This fits in between the front seats in a storage area. I'd prefer a USB port as this would seem to fit the connection I have on my MP3 player. TBH, ideally I'd prefer a USB connection where I could just plug in a memory stick.

Pretty clueless in this area so any advice appreciated...

The '09 model has the aux jack in it as standard. I imagine the head unit is the same on the 08 model. I'd say a competent fitter would do it easy enough....I wouldn't know where to start to guide you though

Hopefully the HU in the Legacy is more modern than the one in the Forester. I'm trying to get an iphone connected to mine and i'm getting nowhere.

Its either dice (doesnt have a usb thou) or dension... has a usb compatibility.
Installed dice on my beemer, works with multifunction steering wheel... works brilliant. Emulates the cd changer, basically.. car thinks ipod is the cd changer.
Cheap option for factory fitted stereos to connect to an ipod. Everyone should have one.
