    Morning all,

Just looking for your thoughts on the cost of a wisdom tooth extraction under local anasthetic in Dublin.
Top right wisdom needs to be removed and rang up to ask how much - approx 250 euro. I rang as a prospective customer looking for an indication.

The receptionist never said it incluided XRays or not so I would like to know your thoughts on the price and whether its reasonable. It seems on par with a 400 AUD tooth extraction five years ago so maybe its about right.

is the tooth impacted, fully errupted, or overerrupted? What are the roots like, short and straight or long and crooked. How many roots? What is your mouth like? Can you open wide and is access to the tooth easy or is it located in a difficult to reach spot? Most dentists would need to know that info before quoting a fee. otherwise you are looking at a range between 100-400. Likewise for an Xray. sometimes a small xray will do and other times an OPG is necessary. The guy who did your extraction 5 years ago probably has an old xray on file.

I am reading the above post and beginning to think I must have been robbed!!!!

Last year I got my lower left wisdom tooth removed and it was impacted. When I got the procedure done, I requested that I would be given IV sedation because I cannot stand pain! I know this costs extra which I was fine about. Total bill came to €950. I thought it was expensive when I was paying for it but now I really am in shock about what I paid!!!!!

well mine was non-impacted and partially erupted. but it did require an incision and some stiches

AFAIK IV sedation can be quite costly. But I'm not sure, just putting it out there.

Yeah it is. I think I paid something in or around the 300 mark for it... Tbh, I dont mind paying that because I remember at the start I was completely out of it and anything after that is a mystery to me!:D
