Have read and heard a lot of negative stuff about this shop, yes he is expensive but have to say I always found him very good. Never did the oversell, got custom fitted for my driver there, he looked at my swing first then suggested I try a few, kept the one he felt I'd hit best till last and he was spot on.

I can only relate a positive story, my only regret is the shop is a bit small, however it is a true golf shop imo, I know he was planning on moving somewhere bigger but guess the credit crunch has put paid to that.

    Go for it

Well you are always going to hit your best at the end...you are warmed up and have your eye in...
Was it the most expensive one?

He lost my respect in about a minute when he showed me how to cure a slice by hooding the club closed a ridiculous amount and then having the neck to look at me and tell me that the face was actually square and that people don't realise that that is what a square face looks like!! If he had the good grace not to insult my intelligence and say 'look here's a quick fix but if you want to cure it it's going to take time and patience' I'd have been happier. Left and haven't been back.

I got a couple of lessons off him. While I found him a little over-bearing the changes he made to my swing really helped. I hit the ball more solidly and consistently and I hit most clubs about 20 yards further.
Can’t comment on custom-fitting or anything though

Go to your club pro. Or any club pro.

I had mine fit a driver shaft for me. He uses the Vortex machine.

I was carrying the ball 220 meters with my driver. 3 Shots later with a driver with 10gram heavier shaft and was carrying 260 meters. Plus they are not going to screw you.

260 metres of carry, you're nearly up there with the leading PGA driving stats.

Fair comment about being warmed up however the proof was when I used it on the course, wouldn't change it for anything at moment anyhow!!
