I really want to do an online survey to gauge peoples opinions about a new product I am about to launch.
The product will be a new type of detergent so its geared towards the home market.
Could some one point me in the right direction as I am clueless and don't know where to start.
    Thanks all

surveymonkey.com - free for 10 questions and limited users. Easy to set up.

    +1 for survey monkey.

Another thing you can do is setup a Google Adwords campaign to send prequalified traffic to your survey landing page.

I've also used zoomerang.com which I've found to be pretty good

key thing is to think long and hard about survey objectives and content first and then worry about how to get it online
