Notification of Change of address

    Hi there

recently moved rental accomodation in dublin, only down the road actually.

I was just wondering what is the procedure for informing the social welfare office?

I am desperately seeking work before anyone asks. What will they ask me for? I have been on JA for nearly one year.

The catch is that my current landlord does not know that I am on social welfare. I am not seeking rental allowance or anything like that. I guess i'm just terrified that when I inform the SW office of my change of address they'll ask for his PPS number or even wanna speak to him.

Is it as simple as going down and they'll change my address without anymore complications??

any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

You need to inform them as soon as possible about your change in circumstances. You will need to provide proof of your new address before they will change it - i.e. Lease, utility bill, bank statement etc. Is there coz reason in particular you aren't claiming rent allowance?

theres no reason im not claiming rent allowance, i could do with it, but i manage to scrape by on what I have. My rent isnt crazy high so i pay it outta my JSA. I feel bad enough claiming dole let alone looking for rent allowance.
Plus my current landlord wouldnt entertain the idea of me paying rent via rental allowance. its not negotiable with him either :(

Im just afraid he will find out im on JSA and kick me out or something even though i always pay my rent on time etc....

When I have my esb bill with proof of new address will that be enough to get it changed? or will they contact the new landlord or call around etc....??
