I doubt it's going to be particularly geeky!!!

Anyway, I thought someone once said giving Synthesizers to the English was like giving whiskey to the Indians...

give an Englishman a synthesiser and sooner or later he'll try to turn it into a hovercraft :D

I was watching this and thinking what would happen if auto tune had of been around at this time. Shudder.

A rose tinted view of history, with white lies etc. Great fun! Good to see passionate performances with mistakes. Shows that its not all about the music :)

Mark Almond did dodgy verses and magic choruses, Neil Tennant fluffed his Emulator part while singing brilliantly, OMD were total geeks with a great vibe. And Annie Lennox did her sex siren persona. Amazing!

Agree with you Paul about those ommisions. Pity they didn't show Thomas Dolby doing Hyperactive on Old Grey Whistle Test. Or Commercial Breakup on The Tube. Both are brilliant performances (and both on Youtube).

    ****ing missed it.

    Should have Sky+'d it. Typical.

If any of you see it repeated before I do.. Please let me know.

    Was it any use?

You do. Go in to your system settings, it's under "Other Channels".

Heres how to set it up Mate..

Theres not much to it.. but you'll actually have to tune it in & then save them. They then appear in other channels.

If you have Sky+ you'll probably end up having to retune them around once a month, as it deletes them. Think the Sky updates / phone line status checks wipes them. I've got that boards link saved in Internet Explorer favourites, but I know them all off by heart by now - It annoying how they keep wiping. :)

I would give it a 6/10. No Thomas Dolby was a bad omission.

There was a bit in it when it said by 1983 everything had become a bit swamped with synths and Howard Jones was shown and then Funboy 3 I think. So maybe they lumped Dolby in with that.

Paul Hardcastle and Nena were omitted too, granted theres no street cred involved but they were decade defining number 1's and heavy on the synths.

anyone else catch this on Friday night?
It was like being a teenager all over again for me ... memories of late nights sitting in a bedsit with a few friends, completely out of it and early Tangerine Dream hopping off the walls *sighs*
