Workflow query

I use the term "workflow" very loosely!

What I'm wondering is when do I sharpen?
If I shoot RAW and then develop as a TIFF to work with in GIMP, do I USM the TIFF or wait until I've turned it into a JPEG? Apparently I'm supposed to sharpen everything - at least according to my printer person.

In my experience, and from comments from people like Guy Gowan, sharpening should be the very last thing you do.

I'd say convert to jpg and then sharpen.
