Legal car scrappers - southside dublin ? how much ?

I need to get 2 old cars scrapped legaly. Anyone know any reputable / official companys on the southside of Dublin that do it, and how much it could be ?

Not sure if the type of cars affects the price - so here are their makes :

1. Suzuki Alto 1996 (still works but no NCT/ battery / insurance or tax)

2. Mazda 323 1984 (no battery, NCT, tax, insurance.)

Thornton's do cars under the ELV scheme. I recently disposed of an Opel Astra with them.

Essentially I advertised the car to be taken away for free. Someone collected the car, and got it destroyed through the official channels and I received the Certificate of Destruction. I presume that the person who took away the car received payment for it from the scrapyard - but I didn't care. Otherwise I was going to have to pay to have the car removed and transported.

That second car you have there, the Mazda 323, might be wanted by an enthusiast so I'd suggest posting it in the classic car forums before making a decision on it.

I'm not sure whether those models were RWD or not, can anybody confirm?

Hammond Lane metal merchants close to the East Link bridge on the southside will issue a certificate of destruction there and then and you can watch the car turning into a cube in front of your eyes at no charge.

You have to bring it to them though. Sounds like what you want is for someone to come along and physically take your cars away and relieve you of the problem.

They're gone from there now. They are in Clondalkin.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Yeah - neither car starts so I need a garage or someone that actually comes and collects them. I'm being given quotes of 100 - 125 each so just wondering if there is any reputable companies that do that cheaper.

Use the Free Stuff section on adverts.ie to post an ad. Someone will probably offer to take them away.
